All to often these cases are happening:
PENDLETON -- A Milton-Freewater woman facing a 47-count indictment for allegedly murdering her 2-year-old son early this month will remain in the Umatilla County Jail without bail.
Polanco allegedly has admitted to officials that she pushed her son, Lucas Isaac Polanco, Jan. 2 out of frustration because he was crying, causing him to hit his head on the bottom of a kitchen table. She also reportedly has confessed to injuring him on previous occasions.
Lucas suffered "blunt force trauma" to his head and other injuries Jan. 2, officials said. Ambulance paramedics were called to the Polanco residence that day for reports that Lucas wasn't breathing or moving. He was airlifted to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland where he died Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m. A probable cause affidavit prepared by Milton-Freewater police states: "While being treated at (the hospital), medical staff identified several injuries to Lucas Isaac Polanco to include but not limited to severe traumatic brain injury, possibly separated or fractured left shoulder and a lacerated liver."
District Attorney Dean Gushwa said last week that within days preceding the fatal assault, Polanco stabbed the back of Lucas' head 15 times with a needle-like instrument used for blood glucose checks.
Loretta Polanco, who had accompanied Lucas to the hospital, was arrested there Jan. 4 shortly after his death. She allegedly admitted that day "intentionally injuring" Lucas on Jan. 2 at their residence "and on multiple other occasions over the last six or seven months, causing the above described injuries," according to the police affidavit. - Read the entire article here

thats to bad loretta polanco is only getting 3 years in the nut hospital for the murder of her son. ive known her since 3rd grade and was close to her up untill the time she had her last to kids and i believe she is able to stand in her own defense. she's not as goofy as she's leading on to be. she's actually smart, she knows how to minipulate people. a friend of mine spent a few days in the same jail and talked with her and was watchin her and told me she was really planning stupid talkin to her self and actin like she was seein people who werent there. she never acted like that before. when she would get evaluated for her ssi she would brag that she played retarded and that she really laid it on thick to rensure she would keep getn her checks. she's just tryn to get out of it.
