I wanted to look at two recent cases that share one thing in common. Mother's selling their children to other people knowing those people are going to be sexually abusing them. One case has a male abusing the child, the other case has a female abusing the child:
LANCASTER, Pa - A 25-year-old woman was sentenced Friday to at least two years in prison for having sex with a preteen Columbia boy, who was being pimped by his mother.
Ashley L. Banks of York was charged last year with having a four-month sexual relationship with the 12-year-old boy. In August, she pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, a felony, and misdemeanor corruption of minors.
Banks had sex with the boy on a "nightly basis" from August 2005 to December 2005, according to a police affidavit filed by Columbia Detective Daniel Bell. She paid the boy's mother in exchange for the sexual encounters, the affidavit says.
The mother was charged in July 2007 with pimping the boy. A Lancaster County jury found that woman guilty in September of three offenses, including criminal conspiracy to rape of a child. She is to be sentenced Dec. 2. - Read the entire article here
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A 46-year-old upstate New York woman will be sentenced for selling a 12-year-old girl to a man for sex as payment for the woman's back rent.
Linda O'Connor of Norwich and her landlord, Dean Sacco of Jersey City, N.J., were both convicted in August by a federal court jury of sex trafficking and producing child pornography. - Read the entire article here
What parent, male or female, would ever agree to do this to their own children? These cases are just more examples that giving birth or being a biologcal donor does not make a person a parent. Cases like this happen to often.
