ERIE. PA - A judge said Carrie L. Dana, 29, failed the community by repeatedly having sex with an 11-year-old boy at her Erie residence in 2007. Bozza sentenced Dana to a total of 15 to 30 years in a state prison. Sentencing requirements dictated much of the penalty.

The defense unsuccessfully argued at trial that Dana did not have sex with the boy, and that, if she did have sex with him, she acted under duress because the boy was obsessed with her- Read the entire article here


FLA - Lillian Glaubman of Miami has been sentenced to 6 ½ years in prison for running a fraudulent business involving public kiosks that charged for Internet access. She also has been ordered to pay more than $18 million to roughly 737 victims of the scheme. - Read the entire article here


WIS - A 45-year-old woman who stabbed her husband in the head, chest and back when she discovered he was having an affair will spend no time in jail, according to a court records released Friday. Maria O. Hernandez, of 1404 S. Eighth St., pleaded no contest to a reduced charge Tuesday and was sentenced to two years probation by Judge L. Edward Stengel. A 90-day jail term was stayed, meaning she does not have to serve it if she successfully completes probation. - Read the entire article here


WIS - Laura Lee Janzig pleaded guilty to criminal defamation in Superior, Wisc. for allegedly false e-mail she wrote to members of the Superior School District alleging that a local teacher was having sex with her students and videotaping it. The accused teacher was put on administrative leave and was investigated by the local police department. - Read the entire article here


SC - A Georgetown woman was convicted of unlawful conduct towards a child after she beat her 12-year-old daughter with a pool stick for not taking care of her three siblings, according to a press release from the solicitor's office for the 15th Judicial Circuit.

Helenia Dawn Jacobs, 33, was given a three-year suspended jail sentence last week. The press release said Jacobs left the 12-year-old in charge of her younger siblings in February. Her 1-year-old sibling was left unattended, turned on the bathtub faucet and flooded the master bedroom. - Read the entire article here


AUSTIN – A woman has been charged with child endangerment, a state jail felony, for allegedly beating her 4-year-old daughter before throwing her into the path of an oncoming vehicle, police said. The driver of the approaching Chevrolet Suburban did not strike the child.

Aurelia Gallardo, 24, faces up to 20 years if convicted. Bail was set at $25,000. When the incident happened Tuesday, Ms. Gallardo and her three children were waiting for a city bus. - Read the entire article here


DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - A suburban Philadelphia woman has been found guilty of first-degree murder for shooting another member of her church. Bucks County authorities say 66-year-old Mary Jane Fonder of Springfield Township shot 42-year-old Rhonda Smith on Jan. 23. Prosecutors say Fonder had romantic feelings for the pastor at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and was jealous Smith was getting attention from him. - Read the entire article here
