Previously I posted about a case where a mother was accused of torturing her son. You can read the previous post HERE.
Some of the excerpts from that previous post are:
Investigators allege she put her 2-and-a-half-year-old son Zachary in boiling water on Oct. 20, according to court papers, causing second- and third-degree burns on his buttocks and scrotum. Those burns prompted the child abuse and maiming charges.
Other reports indicate that prior to putting the baby into boiling water she had placed something inside the baby's rectum which required surgery to remove it and a colostomy bag to be put in place.
Here is the outcome of the case according to this article:
District Attorney Mike Bonfoey says Tabitha Rich pleaded guilty to 2 felony counts of child abuse.
One was for the cigarette burns the other was for her dipping the child’s foot in boiling water as punishment for being constipated.
2 other charges have been dismissed. One was a sex offense that they found no evidence of.
Another was a class C felony that was dismissed because doctors couldn’t testify to a permanent disfigurement from injuries.
Today the judge saw pictures of the boys injuries which included burns to scrotum, testicles, and legs. They say these injuries were extremely painful.
The incident happened October 20, 2008 when the child was 33 months old at the time.
On the first charge she was sentenced to 25 to 39 months in prison. The second 25 to 39 months in prison. The charges will run consecutively. - Read the entire article here
