Torrez had showed up at the woman's rural home asking to use the phone and bathroom.

She pointed a pistol at Ochsenbine, stabbed her and tied up her and her one-year-old son. Torrez then took seven-day-old baby Abby. Police tracked down Torrez five days later. Abby was recovered alive and well. - Read the entire article here

The 53-year-old woman, whose trial on child molestation charges began Friday in Nassau County Court, was molesting her youngest daughter with a Barbie doll, and forcing her older children to play tug-of-war naked and then have oral sex while she watched, prosecutors said. Newsday is not naming the woman to protect her children's identities.

"What [the woman] pretended to be at PTA meetings and at her daughter's cheerleading practice was not the same person that her children knew her to be," prosecutor Stephen Antignani told jurors. - Read the entire article here

Ashwaubenon investigators plan to refer the woman to prosecutors and recommend charges of identity theft, forgery, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. Adrianna Lucero, who will be 18 in December, was charged in 3rd District Court with first-degree felony murder in the death of her 2-year-old son Alejandro G. Lucero, who died Aug. 24.

“The mechanism of the spinal fracture was not likely from a stomp or blow to the child's back, but was more likely a severe, bending force which bent A.L.'s lumbar spine backward and that would have taken some time to inflict, during which A.L. would have been screaming the entire time,” charging documents stated. - Read the entire article here
